MAKERS UNITE COLLECTION
OUR PRODUCTS SHARE UNTOLD STORIES OF NEWCOMERS WITH REFUGEE BACKGROUNDS.
Once life-vests used during migrant travel, this collection of travel accessories is hand-made by newcomers with refugee backgrounds in Amsterdam, in the process empowering other newcomers towards employment and granting the fabric a new identity as an ongoing symbol of hope.
Socially and environmentally sustainable, and made entirely out of organic material and reclaimed life jacket parts, this emblematic shopper bag can be reversed to reveal the story of Ramzi, a former tailor at Makers Unite who was connected to full-time employment in The Netherlands.
Our collaborations allow the creative newcomers of Makers Unite to engage with local designers, activists + organisations. The limited-edition pieces help carry their stories to new audiences.
